This policy covers the Gajimaru iOS app and website. The sections below describe the iOS app; website-specific services are described separately.
Gajimaru is operated by its developer, based in Ireland. For any privacy question, email us.
The website uses Cloudflare for hosting. Cloudflare processes network information to deliver and protect the website. See Cloudflare privacy information.
With your permission, the website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure public page visits, referral sources, labelled campaigns and reading actions such as using a companion, opening a tale or saving a book. The Google tag loads only after you choose Allow analytics. No Google Analytics requests are sent before consent or after you decline. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to distinguish browsers; we set their lifetime to 90 days. Your analytics choice is remembered locally for 180 days.
We do not send account identifiers, email addresses, saved text, search text or password-reset tokens to Google Analytics. Public URLs are filtered; private account pages are not counted as page views. Google receives network and device information needed to process measurement requests. Advertising features and Google signals are disabled. Browser statistics do not identify named readers or establish the same person across devices. See How Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy. Umami is not enabled.
Our integration also respects Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control and an existing browser exclusion. Change your choice at any time below; this does not change your account or reading data. Declining removes the Google Analytics cookies on this domain. These controls apply to the website, not the native app.
The website offers password-reset requests and a welcome email when an optional contact email is supplied. These messages are sent through Resend using that address and the account username. The native iOS app does not currently offer automated password recovery. We do not use contact emails for advertising.
We process account and reading data to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract). Optional weather uses your consent, which you can withdraw in You or iOS Settings.
Your account and synced reading data are stored with Supabase. We retain them while your account is active. Your chosen profile photo is stored locally and is not uploaded by the app. Community features can show your username and reading activity to other readers; you can turn off community visibility in You.
Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can withdraw consent at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, use "Delete account" in your profile settings, it takes effect immediately. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
Gajimaru is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, where the change is significant, notify you in the app.
